For
the third consecutive year, The
Tufts University Center for Children (TUCC) and the
University College of
Citizenship and Public Service is sponsoring the Applied
Research Projects Initiative, which seeks student project
proposals that focus on the study of a real world impact on
the lives of children. This year's initiative received over
30 proposals from undergraduates and graduate students from
the following Tufts' schools: Arts and Sciences (Applied Physics,
Boston School of Occupational Therapy, Child Development,
Communications and Media Studies, Community Health, Gender
Studies, Economics, Education, English, History, International
Relations, Music, Peace and Justice Studies, Political Science,
Psychology, Studio Art), the School of Engineering, the School
of Medicine, the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and
Policy, the School of Dental Medicine, and the Fletcher School
of Law and Diplomacy.
The review panel included faculty, staff and students from
Arts and Sciences, TUCC, and the University College. The projects
that received funding are listed below:
