The
Tufts University Center for Children (TUCC) and the
University College of
Citizenship and Public Service has sponsored a second
year of the student projects initiative, entitled "Applied
Research Projects." This year's initiative was an even
bigger success - We received more than double the number of
proposals from last year!! In addition, we received at least
one proposal from each of Tufts' eight schools, with both
undergraduates and graduate students represented: Arts and
Sciences (Art History, Comparative Religions, International
Relations, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, History,
Child Development, UEP, Community Health, Visual Studies,
Peace and Justice Studies), the School of Engineering, the
School of Medicine, the Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman
School of Nutrition Science and Policy, the School of Dental
Medicine, Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, the School
of Veterinary Medicine, and the Sackler School of Graduate
Biomedical Sciences.
The
review panel included faculty, staff and students from Arts
and Sciences, the School of Medicine, TUCC, and University
College. The projects that received funding are listed in
the chart below, and were showcased in a poster
session on April 12, 2004.
