THE
15TH NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT (NCCAN)
"SUPPORTING PROMISING PRACTICES AND POSITIVE OUTCOMES:
A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY" - APRIL 18-23, 2005
The 15th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect (NCCAN),
"Supporting Promising Practices and Positive Outcomes:
A Shared Responsibility" will be held in Boston, Massachusetts
from April 18-23, 2005. The Tufts University Center for
Children (TUCC) is one of the proud sponsors of the conference.
NCCAN is the nation's premiere conference on child abuse and
neglect and has been held biennially since 1976. More than
2,000 practitioners, policy makers, community organizers,
and researchers will participate in a weeklong meeting of
plenary, workshop and skill-building sessions. The location
of this conference in Boston presents an opportunity for Massachusetts
to showcase and bring attention to innovative child abuse
prevention and treatment initiatives as well as current challenges.
Conference attendees will gain new information and resources
to use in their work. The Massachusetts
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC)
is the local host for the conference.

and the media, foster care, advocacy and active citizenship,

animal-assisted therapy to intervene responsibly and effectively
